Published 2025

Love going on trips with your besties? There really is no better ‘therapy’ than taking an awesome girls’ trip—and Europe's got some of the coolest spots for a girls' getaway. From colorful streets to dreamy beaches, these places are all about creating memories, having fun, and soaking up new vibes.

So, why is Europe the go-to destination for girls' trips? It's pretty simple. Europe's got it all—historic landmarks, crazy fun nightlife, stunning views, and cozy little cafés. Every country's got its own vibe, so you'll never get bored. And getting around? Super easy. Many cities are close to each other and connected by trains or planes (suitable for all budgets).

Europe is the best girls' getaway destination

The Safest & Best Girl Holiday Destinations In Europe

When picking my top spots in Europe for girls' getaways, I considered a bunch of things like safety, fun things to do, how much it costs, and how easy it is to get around. These nine destinations are perfect for all that and so much more!

Amsterdam is a top destination for girls' trips

01—

Amsterdam, Netherlands

I love Amsterdam for a girls' vacay (it's also great for solo trips). Amsterdam's like stepping into a fairytale with its cute canals, funky neighborhoods, and awesome museums. The city’s maze of canals is flanked by adorable, skinny houses, while charming bridges where bike paths crisscross.

For a culture fix, swing by the Anne Frank House (bring tissues), then treat yourself at the Amsterdam Cheese Museum because, honestly, cheese is culture. In the Museum Quarter, check out the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum.

Go on a bike tour with a local and cruise around the city, or hop on a boat tour through the canals (totally recommend a tour with Captain Jack). If you're there in spring, the tulip gardens are insane. And try to make time for other fun stuff like waffle making (it’s a thing!).

Where to stay? Crash in style at the five-star Conservatorium Hotel—it’s amazing. For more budget-friendly options, try the classically-styled Hotel Estheréa or the eco-friendly Tribe Amsterdam City.

Iceland is a great destination for women who love to travel and have adventures

02—

Reykjavik, Iceland

Reykjavik is an epic pick for a girls' trip—it’s chic, safe, easy to explore, and bursting with adventure, culture, and hot-spring vibes. The sun doesn't really set on this city in the summer—like, barely at all. You can just walk around all night if you want.

Don’t forget to check out the Harpa Concert Hall, a stunning glass building by the harbor for stunning photo opps or splurge on a performance. For culture overload, visit the Reykjavik Art Museum or the National Museum of Iceland— or even the quirky (and kinda hilarious) Icelandic Phallological Museum.

Next? Visit the Blue Lagoon. Iconic and touristy, but still worth it—especially if you're looking to lounge in steamy waters with face masks and cocktails in hand.

Adventurous kind of girls? Take a day trip around some of the famous ring road—totally worth it. Or set off on a horse riding tour through the south of Iceland and admire incredible volcanic landscapes. If you’re visiting between Sept and April, book a Northern Lights tour.

Best spot to stay? Somewhere central, like Alda Hotel Reykjavik on Laugavegur (the main shopping street, which is also good for bar-hopping). Chill in the outdoor hot tub and maybe catch the Northern Lights, or soak in the indoor sauna to relax. Another great option is the Reykjavik Konsulat Hotel with a bathhouse and wine room (bonus!).

Lisbon Portugal is a great destination for a girls' trip away

03—

Lisbon, Portugal

Lisbon’s got this sunny, chill vibe that’s perfect for a laid-back trip. Colorful streets, gorgeous coastlines, and everyone’s super friendly. You could totally spend days just wandering those cobblestone streets (especially in Alfama) and eating all the seafood with a glass of local wine. So good. I highly recommend a local walking tour.

Fun stuff to do? Go shopping in Chiado—it’s like a shopping paradise. There are quirky little boutiques and all the big-name stores too. Plus, tons of cute cafés around where you can grab an espresso and just relax for a bit.

For sunset drinks, hit up one of Lisbon’s rooftop bars. Park Bar’s a must. It’s literally on top of a parking garage, but don’t let that throw you off—the views are insane, and the vibe’s super chill.

Do all the touristy stuff, it’s worth it. Check out Belém Tower, Jerónimos Monastery, and LX Factory. Skip tram 28, though, it’s packed with tourists, and locals actually need it. Keep an ear out for live Fado music—places like Clube de Fado or A Tasca do Chico are great for that.

If you have time, take a day trip out to Sintra, Cabo da Roca Coast and Cascais—it’s epic and well worth it.

Where to stay? Hotel Valverde is super-cute and central. Perfect spot for exploring, and the Botanical Gardens are right across the street. Haws Lisboa has super lovely apartment hotel rooms. And check out the industrial Raw Culture Art & Lofts Bairro Alto.

04—

Hvar, Croatia

There are over 1,000 islands along Croatia's coastline, but Hvar stands out because it's got the perfect mix of treat yourself comfort and untouched natural beauty.

Surrounded by the sparkling Mediterranean, Hvar has all the essentials for a legendary girls' trip: dreamy beaches, buzzing nightlife, and enough vineyards to keep the wine flowing.

What to do? Explore the old town. It's got cute cobblestone streets, cool boutiques, and spots for coffee or gelato. Spend your day soaking up the sun on Dubovica Beach or wander inland to sniff out the island's famous lavender fields.

A local guide can give you an epic overview of the lavender fields, old villages, wine and olive oil cellars, and more.

For a water activity, take a local tour and explore the stunning Pakleni Islands; they’re perfect for swimming, snorkeling, or simply relaxing in the sun. Or spend the day island hopping around Vis Island.

Next? When the sun sets, dance the night away at bars like Carpe Diem or Hula Hula. Stay somewhere central like the charming Heritage Park Hotel where you can indulge in local vibes and a fantastic breakfast. The seaside Riva Marina Hvar Hotel is also great, as is Valamar Amicor Resort in Stari Grad.

What are the highlights? Hang by the waterfront, shop, grab a coffee, or eat at one of the cute restaurants with a view of Aker Brygge.

Explore the Munch Museum and then climb up the roof of the Oslo Opera House for amazing views of the city and water. Great spot for group pics! And hit the water on a short cruise from the port, or even better, take an island-hopping and nature walking tour.

What else? Oh, yeah, spend time in the very cool Grünerløkka neighborhood with artsy shops, vintage finds, street art, and cozy cafés. It's a total vibe for exploring and partying the night away.

Where to stay for a girls’ trip? The Thief Hotel is my number one for sophisticated spa vibes in a great location. The Clarion Hotel in the Barcode District is a great option. Or stay at Sommerro Hotel, a little outside the central city (but still connected), for a seriously cool Art Deco experience. It also boasts possibly the best cocktail bar in Oslo, and a fab restaurant downstairs with live jazz.

Amalfi Coast is the perfect getway for a girls' vacation

07—

Amalfi Coast, Italy

The Amalfi Coast in Italy is such a cool spot for a girls' trip. The views are insane, the little towns are super cute, and the vibe is just so fun. Places like Positano, Ravello, and Amalfi have awesome shopping, delish food, and tons to explore. Stay in places like the Villa Yiara and the Villa Boheme Exclusive Luxury Suites for the best girls’ vacay experience.

For chill time, the beaches are gorgeous, and the water is crazy clear—perfect for soaking up the sun. If your girls are more into adventure and fitness, there are these amazing hiking trails with unreal views of the Mediterranean.

What else is there to do? Chill on the beach, of course! Spiaggia Grande in Positano or Marina Grande in Amalfi are perfect for soaking up the sun and sipping cocktails by the sea. One of my favorite activities is sailing along the Amalfi Coast.

Eat everything (seriously!). Find a cute restaurant with outdoor seating and load up on fresh pasta, pizza, and all the seafood. Burn off the calories by hiking the ‘Path of the Gods’. Definitely worth the effort and the thigh burn! Wrap up your day with some local wine tasting!

Time for a sneaky side trip? Take a ferry to Capri, rent a convertible or two, and explore the island. The Blue Grotto is a must if the weather’s good (it’s so surreal and awesome).

Nice France is the perfect girls' trip away in Europe

08—

Nice, France

Nice is this good-sized city right on the Mediterranean in France, and it’s super popular for its art, cool old buildings, and crazy beautiful views.

Honestly, it’s such a solid spot for a girls’ trip, especially with that amazing weather. Hit up a fancy spa at one of the bougie hotels, chill at a beach club, and eat all the French seafood and pastries you can handle.

Make sure to wander around the cute little streets in the Old Town, then head up to Castle Hill for those insane views of the French Riviera. Like more inspo? Here are 15 of my favorite things to do in Nice.

There’s also a ton of easy day trips—like the artsy vibes of Saint Paul de Vence or the picture-perfect Antibes and Villefranche-sur-Mer. If you’ve only got one day spare, think about blitzing the French Riviera with this local guide.

For ultimate luxury and those Mediterranean vibes, stay at the Hotel Le Negresco. Want to know more about Nice? Jump over to my Nice page for all the good stuff to know before you go on a girls’ getaway, along with more hotel recommendations.

Rome is the ultimate girls' getway destination in Europe

09—

Rome, Italy

History and food lovers, this one's for you! Rome's got the perfect mix of history, food, and chill spots—it's hard to go wrong.

My advice? Embrace being a tourist in Rome. Tour the Colosseum, check out the Roman Forum, toss a coin in the Trevi Fountain (it's 100% cheesy but fun), and hit up the Pantheon—it's free and totally stunning inside (my favorite!).

And, of course, the Vatican City is a must—St. Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel are seriously out of control, beautiful (and a bit overwhelming).

Chill on the Spanish Steps for a bit and people-watch. Bonus if you grab some gelato! Splurge a little on designer stuff just around the corner.

Try an aperitivo (pre-dinner happy hour) at a cute bar and go to Campo de' Fiori for a market vibe during the day or drinks at night. Want some chill time? Visit Villa Borghese Gardens. Rent bikes or just stroll around.

What are the best hotels for a girls’ trip that are both centrally located and safe? Check out Hotel Artemide and Hotel Camelia. I also really like Hotel Viminale.
