Where to stay in Nice with friends

Nice has tons of accommodation options, from beachfront hotels to cozy apartments that are perfect for groups, but not all are great, so choose carefully.

Plus, location's everything. Stay close to the action so you can stay safe and walk to beaches, bars, and all the cool stuff.

  • Luxury Hotels: The Radisson Blu Hotel's got that sleek French vibe plus group-friendly perks. Hotel Le Negresco is an iconic hotel that’s super fancy. Both are right on the Promenade des Anglais, so you can head out for a sunrise stroll or a midnight swim super easily.

  • Boutique & Modern: Palais Saleya has cute apartments with kitchens and living rooms. The Deck Hotel is a solid choice if your group wants bright, comfy rooms near the beach. And Palais Ségurane Boutique Hôtel is just the best.

Pro travel tip: Book early—prime spots go fast. You don't want to be stuck with the leftovers in some sad location. Need more inspo? Explore more hotel deals via the map below. Use the filters to sort by date and price.

Must-do activities for an unforgettable girls' trip

Nice is packed with stuff to do that's perfect for groups. Whether you're into lazy beach days, exploring landmarks, checking out art, or hitting the nightlife, Nice has it all. It really does.

Beach time and Promenade des Anglais

A trip to Nice isn't complete without chilling on the beaches along the Promenade des Anglais. This long stretch by the sea is perfect for morning jogs, slow walks, or snapping group selfies, or maybe spotting a celebrity or two.

Best beach clubs for groups

  • Blue Beach

  • Castel Plage

  • Ruhl Plage

Most of these spots have loungers, umbrellas, and drink service. Want to know more? Here's the lowdown on all the best private and public beaches around Nice and the Côte d'Azur.

Pro tip: bring sandals (the pebbles get hot), sunscreen, and a good book. I always order an Aperol spritz or two, soak up the sun, and take a dip in the crystal-clear water….and a good chunk of the day disappears blissfully.

Travel tip: If you want to get off the beach, consider taking a boat trip from Nice and discovering Villefranche. I don’t think you’ll regret it :)

Explore the markets when visiting Nice for a girls weekend away

Exploring the old town and local markets

Vieux Nice (old town) is all kinds of colorful and chaotic—in the best way. Wander through the maze of alleys with pastel-colored houses and open shutters. Must-see in the old town in Nice:

  • The Cours Saleya market is a whole vibe. It's full of flowers, spices, soaps, and fresh produce. Grab some socca (chickpea pancake) or snack on olives.

  • Hike up Castle Hill for an epic view and a perfect group photo.

  • Stop for ice cream at Fenocchio or find a hidden bakery for some delicious snacks.

Day trips from Nice: Eze and Saint-Paul-de-Vence

Here’s an idea: Take a day trip to Eze or Saint-Paul-de-Vence. They're easy to get to by bus or car and give you that dreamy French village vibe.

  • Eze (pictured above): This place is perched way up high with medieval streets, gorgeous gardens, and insane views. Check out the Exotic Garden for some fab scenery. There are also cute artisan shops and perfumeries to explore.

  • Saint-Paul-de-Vence: This artsy little village has cobblestone streets, galleries, and old-school walls. Have a long, lazy lunch in a leafy square or hunt for one-of-a-kind art to take home. Yes, it's a bit touristy, but that doesn't mean it's not great.

Have time to explore further afield? Here are nine great spots to visit and stay along the French Riviera—super easy to get to from Nice by train.

If you’re stuck for time, you might want to book this private tour to Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Antibes, and Cannes for your girls’ getaway.

Best bars and restaurants in Nice for a girls' trip

Best bars for a girls’ night out in Nice

Here are three bars that I recommend for a girls’ night out in Nice.

  1. Indulge a little at Le Negresco Hotel. It has a super classy bar that serves amazing cocktails, from Old Fashions and Negronis to their own signature creations like the ‘Royal Negresco’. Plus, live musicians crank out some top-notch soul, blues, and jazz.

  2. Waka Bar is a cool beach spot in Nice, super chill during the day and buzzing at night. They’ve got tapas and sharing plates—perfect for hanging with friends. Cocktails are awesome, the staff’s super nice, and the sea-view terrace? So good. At night, DJs bring House and EDM vibes.

There are many nice cafes and restaurants in Nice, perfect for a girls' weekend away

Great eats: restaurants and cafes

Nice is foodie heaven, and there are plenty of group-friendly spots. From seaside bistros to hidden gems in Old Town, you'll find something for everyone—even the pickiest eaters! Popular local dishes to try:

  • Salade niçoise

  • Pissaladière (onion tart…it’s better than it sounds)

  • Pan bagnat (stuffed sandwich)

  • Fresh seafood

Restaurant recommendations

Here are three restaurants that I visit often in Nice. If you haven’t already, jump over and download my free map of great places to eat and drink in Nice.

  • La Route Du Miam is an authentic restaurant with fab food at reasonable prices. It’s small, so you’ll need to squeeze around a table if you’re a big group.

  • If you want a fancy night out, L'Alchimie Restaurant is a MICHELIN restaurant that’s a fusion of Asian and French cuisine.

  • Les Amoureux, just a short stroll from the port, is my go-to for traditional Neapolitan pizzas with fresh ingredients and a cosy atmosphere.

Dining tips for groups: Call ahead or book online—places get packed during busy seasons. Meals in France are all about taking your time, and splitting the bill usually happens at the end. Think about ordering a bunch of dishes to share. It's more fun that way, and you won't get food envy :)
